    Pros +

    • They gave small breads and croissants for breakfast and there was coffee, apple & orange juice.
    • The women working the desk were very helpful. I wish they understood more English. Masaru-san was most helpful and and knowledgeable. The location was most convenient: near Ranzan restaurant for breakfast. Close to Togetsukyo bridge, 4 train stations. The coffee choices were excellent and oishii. The pastries were the appropriate size and oishii.
    • Close to bamboo forest

    Cons -

    • Super uncomfortable pillows, and beds. The room felt like a Concrete prison cell and the back sliding glass door didn’t lock. The smoke alarm detector in the ceiling was super bright in the fridge was very loud. We unplugged it. Otherwise it would’ve kept us up all night. We asked for a cleaning after the first night and they did not clean the room. Would not stay here again.
    • The only thing I didn’t like is that they didn’t stay on top of changing towels. On one of the days where the room was supposed to be cleaned they didn’t even enter or provide new towels. The next day I even put the towels outside the door in the basket provided so they knew I needed a change but when I came back at the end of the days the same towels were in the basket and no new towels provided. So I had to go to reception and ask for them myself (no one was at the desk and I had to call the hotel phone for them to come). Also the windows in the room had no view outside which is a shame because they were massive panels.
    • Food places are quite limited especially at night, where there is only one convenient store nearby. So eat out before returning to the hotel, There is no laundry machines in the hotel itself, and the nearest one is a 27 min walk or one stop away and 4 min walk if taking the train.

Room with nice layout, clean and very spacious.

The place is nice and quiet, out of the city area and a nice walking distance to a few popular tourist site. It is also near to the train station, so it is convenient when taking public transport. The staff are friendly.

The hotel and staff was very nice! The property has an excellent location and was easy to get to.

The only option for my husband and I was a room with 3 beds. The same was true for my adult daughter who was staying with us. We much would have preferred one double or king bed.

Fun location in between two canalsHelpful staff and clean rooms

They only give one pillow per bed.

    10AjaxPosted on: 6-5-2025

The room was clean, comfortable, and a nice size for the price.

You can sometimes hear things happening in the other rooms but thats a given for most places in Japn

Shower was amazing and the bed was great, ln a really quiet area. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful.

Hotel was great, daytime in the area has become very crowded with tourists and prices are up

The staff were very nice and helpful. We needed help to send my friend’s luggage from hotel to KIX and when that didn’t work out, they helped my friend with other alternative. They also have free light breakfast. The room was also very spacious and clean. It is only a few minutes walk from Arashiyama St and the bus station. It is also very close to the Bamboo Forest.

Far from Kyoto Station so I find it not good for a base especially if you have plenty of day trips.

    near the river

no car park, paid car park is near but expensive

Very spacious hotel room, with comfortable beds, bathroom and a small pantry. Facilities are new and well equipped. There's also light breakfast (breads and juices) free for hotel guests every morning which our kids love. It's about 5 minutes walk from Arashiyama Station, and if you can easily walk to Togetsukyo Bridge within 5 to 10 minutes if you go through the backyard exit of the hotel. However, there's only 1 convenience store near the hotel which is just outside the Arashiyama Station, but it's good enough for our daily supplies and needs.

Would have been better if there are laundry facilities in the hotel, or within the hotel's vicinity.

The stay was around tranquil setting, close proximity to public transport and attractions yet away from the hustle and bustle.Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room's immaculate, comfortable beds, spacious with home theatre facilities, a great variety of toiletries, and the complimentary breakfast breads and juices were all good. Facilities for cloak room an added boon..

Lovely staff. Great sized room! Fantastic location.

    Beds a little small

    10AdrianaPosted on: 4-19-2025

Extra friendly. I accidentally double booked a room and they were able to correct it without us paying the cancellation cost. Free breakfast. Clean, good location if you want to visit Arashiyama, and the moss temple. Good connection (a direct bus ~40 minutes) to Kyoto station. Near bus and train station. They even had a restroom for leisure. It feels that it’s most for people who travel with pets since there are a lot of dog treats and dog theme.

We went in the end of April and it was like 20 degrees outside. There were A LOT of insects swarming in the open corridor between the river and the hotel rooms. They provided mosquito spray and even without using it I escaped mosquito bites.

Amazing location and easy entry/exit after hours.Simple breakfast was available at good hours (6am - 10am)

We only got given one (quite small) pillow per bed. When we asked for extras we were told there were none, but after asking three people the housekeeping staff eventually gave us extras that were much nicer. The breakfast was very simple - just bread buns and juice boxes

    10Dimitar B.Posted on: 4-13-2025

The hotel provided a light breakfast and some extra activities, which definitely exceeded our expectations. It was absolutely quiet at night, and I had some of the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended.

We stay three nights, all the days we ask for a room cleaning, but they never clean the room… we read the instructions and left the cleaning request in the way that they ask. But they never clean or replaced the towels

Good location, friendly staff, spacious room.

Basic, poor value for money, broken coffee machine and no alternative offered.
